  The Freedman’s Committee invites you to join the Juneteenth Celebration following the morning service.

African Drumming and cultural displays celebrating the African American Heritage in Bethania.

Juneteenth Worship Service

Old St. Philips Church

911 S. Church Street in Old Salem, Winston-Salem

Speaker - Dr. Cedric Rodney Service will be held in the church where Blacks gathered in 1865 to hear

the General Orders read that the slave population was free. There will be a re-enactment of this historic

event. There will also be free tours of Old St. Philips Church and the reconstructed log church adjacent

to the African Graveyard. Light refreshments will be served.
