Juneteenth is a celebration of the country's longest-running
observance of the abolition of slavery.

Historical Tours - St. Philips Complex
Old Salem Museums &
Gardens, Winston-Salem
Visit the oldest standing African American
Church in North Carolina. The ending of slavery was announced in this church
on Sunday, May 21, 1865. Also on the site is the reconstructed 1823 African
Moravian Log Church the Negro Graveyard.
Ticket will include tour of one other Old
Salem building.
Museum Tickets: Adults - $14 / Children ages 6-16 - $7
Hours: Tuesday - Saturday 9:30 am - 4:30 pm Sunday 1:00 pm - 4:30 pm

Old Salem visitors will receive a copy of the General Orders 32
declaration of freedom for enslaved African Americans in North Carolina.

the St. Philips Complex in Old Salem which focuses on Christianity and
race:
